It is official. Our group is going to Nürnberg two weekends from now! I am looking forward to going to another Germany city, in another part of the country. And because this date was finally given to us, I was able to know what other time I had available to me. My tandem partner and I are planning a day trip to Frankfurt three Saturdays from now, the week after the Nürnberg trip.
My tutorials for the sci-fi class were postponed for this week, so my only class today was my conversation course. I really do have mixed feelings about this conversation course. On one hand, I always debate with myself before the class if it is really worth attending, because I feel like I am not getting anything out of it (and it is optional). But then, I end up attending anyway, just to see if I can get something out of it, even just a little bit of practice.
I got started on my fifteen minute presentation for next week’s British literature class. The topic is “Where is the magic in the Lord of the Rings?” and there are four of us who have this topic. We each have separate subtopics. For example, my specific topic is “Magical Objects,” so I will be talking about things like magical rings, wizard’s staves, etc.
In talking with one of the people in my program yesterday, who lives in Kansas, I found out that her sister is moving to the same town in which my sister attends university (though not for the same reason). So we are hoping that there will be a chance where we can meet up over the holidays.
